Orissa can be visited throughout the year, but the
best time to visit would be between October to March. The weather during
winter is very pleasant and conducive to travel. This is also the main
time when millions of migratory birds come from the north to nest in the
lakes and forests of Orissa.
The state observes three major seasons - summer, rain and winter. The
summer season starts from March and continues till June. During this
time, the temperature rises very high. The rainy season of Orissa starts
from July and continues till October. There is heavy rainfall in the
month of August. Thus, winter remains the best time to visit the place.
